We are here to help those who feel they cannot provide their bird with the love and attention they deserve or in some cases we are called to rescue birds that are in potential danger.
Some birds that come to us, need a bit of TLC. Our amazing team of volunteers who have a lot of knowledge of birds and their health, ensure that those who need veterinary care and love, get it.

Safehaven Parrot Rescue and Refuge was set up over 35 years ago by Christine and Paul Forman and with the assistance of our Patron, Neil Forbes, became a registered Charity in 1998. We offer our services all over the UK including Nottingham, Birmingham, North Wales, Scotland and wherever we are needed to go.
Incoming parrots are safehoused by Area Coordinators and volunteers situated across the country, allowing us to be able to offer our parrot rehoming service all over the UK.
Our Area Coordinators are experienced parrot handlers that have all sorts of knowledge when it comes to birds. Birds are assessed by our Area Coordinators to match parrot and family as appropriate.
Most animal rescues do not have the expertise that is needed for the care of parrots and this is where Safehaven comes in.
